Fovant is located in the Nadder Valley, between Salisbury (12 miles) and Shaftesbury (11 miles). The semi-rural village is home to famous military badges, which were carved into the chalk downs by soldiers stationed in the area during World War 1, as a tribute to fallen comrades.
The village boasts a popular shop with Post Office, thriving village hall, superb doctor’s surgery and traditional village garage. There is a cosy and modern pub with rooms, The Greater Good, and a fascinating 13th century church with military connections. Fovant is ideally placed for stunning countryside walks, during which views of the river and its valley can be enjoyed.
Nearby Tisbury (4 miles) is the largest village in Wiltshire’s Nadder Valley and is located to the west of the cathedral city of Salisbury. The village benefits from a railway station which is on the main line between Exeter and London Waterloo. Tisbury has an excellent range of immediate facilities including a Co-Operative supermarket, several independent retailers, post office, hairdressers, vets, local butchers, dentist, chemist, leisure centre and several community groups.
The property is accessed off of Sutton Road where you enter a private driveway providing off road parking for a couple of vehicles. A pathway then leads up to either the front or side doors. In addition is a small front garden with a number of mature shrubs, which looks out onto the fields and undisturbed countryside. There is also a side gate, providing access to the rear.
The rear garden can also be accessed from the kitchen diner where you walk around to a small set of tiered steps. The garden is mainly laid to lawn and enclosed to all sides with a mixture of fencing and hedging. Located at the rear of the garden is a wonderful view of undulating Wiltshire countryside.
The south facing rear garden provides a high degree of privacy and in addition has a garden shed as well as a decking area that enjoys the morning sun.
There is a number of nearby picturesque countryside walks that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
